COA Accreditation

The El Paso Child Guidance Center is proud to be accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) since 2001. COA is the nations leading accrediting body of social service and mental health care organizations. We voluntarily chose to pursue the grueling process to achieve accreditation by the Council on Accreditation because it stands for quality health care, and so do we.

The COA accreditation process involves an in-depth examination of the Centers compliance with best practice standards. This includes an evaluation against national financial, administration and clinical standards.

Achieving accreditation makes a strong statement to the El Paso community that the Center meets the highest national standards and is delivering the best quality services to the community we serve. As the demand for greater accountability for quality and costs grow, it is more important than ever to have the quality distinction – Council on Accreditation.

Outcomes Report

To measure success and monitor the effectiveness of our clinical services, the Center evaluates each child or adult in specific areas of functioning at the beginning of treatment and when the case is closed. Outcomes are assessed by comparing before and after results of the evaluation. With this information we are able to evaluate the degree of success in resolving the problems that brought the person to the Child Guidance Center for help.

In addition, all clients over the age of 12 complete a satisfaction survey. The information gathered from these surveys gives us feedback on the clients overall experience at the Center, satisfaction with the facility, quality of services and if there was improvement in the situation that brought them to the agency.

Based on the findings, specific recommendations are made for changes in programs, policy, procedures, and staffing to increase the effectiveness and quality of our services and the responsiveness of our staff to the needs of the people who come to the Center for help.
